历史上，无论是丘吉尔的《我们将战斗到底》、马丁路德金的《我有一个梦想》、林肯的《葛底斯堡演说》，抑或是乔布斯的斯坦福演讲、TED大会上的系列名家演讲，许多金句和思维的闪光点得以流传,无疑，公众演说对建立个人或组织影响力、吸引力、营销力有着积极的推动作用。生活中，同样因为缺乏自信，不敢上台演讲，很多人也因此错失了成功的机会。
11月17日，来自各学院的英语演讲爱好者、外教Clive、英语专业教研室杨沁霏老师、鱼城书院金鑫老师共聚鱼城空格影音室，开展了主题为“What is public speaking and why does it matter?”的师生交流活动，本次活动不讲陈规、不设评委、不排名次，将C位还给学生，老师们和同学们混坐其中，更是想让本场的学生演讲者们成为全场焦点。
“To step out of our comfort zone，to ignite the flame under your heart”
“Use speeches to gain power. Use public speaking as a sword to realize your dreams.”
“My dear audiences and all of the speakers here, all we can do now is to spark, to ignite the blaze inside.”
“Public speaking is an important skill in our lives. For example, in education and business we often see people using such a skill to convey their points of view.”

尽管来自非英语专业，但同学们为了这次活动，准备了精彩的讲稿，带着精致的妆容，用优雅的肢体语言，气质翩翩的台风，依次向在场同学们展示着英语口语风采。
悉心点拨
外教Clive在每位同学演讲后都及时做出了针对性的反馈，并用欢快的语气，可爱的动作鼓励同学们，也用滑稽的姿态向大家示范着需要注意的不好的习惯，“Remember to speak slowly and look into the audiences’ eyes sincerely，keeping eye contact is very important”“Your advantage is keeping smiling all the time, that’s very useful and attractive.”“Try to breathe before going to the front, that’s a good way to make you calm down.”“When I gave my first speech before, I asked my friends how I looked, they all told me my legs were shaking, but all of you performed very well, much better than me.”外教老师Clive提出演讲的关键是登上演讲台，登上舞台你就开启了新的大门，其他都不要过于介意，紧张的时候，可多做几次深呼吸，气息会变得平稳，吐字会更加清楚，对演讲有事半功倍的效果。
朋辈引领
同学们的主题演讲结束之后，曾参加重庆市外教社杯演讲比赛获得特等奖的陈祖琼学姐分享了她的演讲成长心路历程。平稳的踱步、精确的发音、流利的演说、自信的姿态，如TED演讲舞台上的那些讲者般落落大方，娓娓诉说着她演讲路上的引路人、学习的方法和坚持的动力。陈祖琼学姐鼓励学弟学妹们“If you have a dream, you have to try, even if you fail once, twice, three or four times.”愿在场的每一位同学，都能以陈祖琼学姐为榜样，努力克服演讲中出现的问题、敢于直面自己的缺点、不断尝试，成为自己演讲中熠熠生辉的星星。
师生共情
杨沁霏老师说:“As an English teacher, I was also very shy during my college time, but I feel so proud and excited to see your progress and success. Wish you all can learn from your senior ChenZuqiong, always be persistent, always be brave, always be lucky.”
鱼城书院金鑫老师在活动最后提到，“Several years ago, I was the same as you standing on some stages to express my ideas, to compete for the glory and today I am really inspired and impressed by you. You are definitely the hope and stars of tomorrow, from now on, let’s ignite the flame of Yitong speaking atmosphere.”Speak-uppers移通演说家将作为一个长期的、常态的书院中英文演讲提升平台，旨在培养对公众演讲感兴趣、乐于思辨和表达自我观点、敢于挑战自我的同学们，为他们走向更宽广的未来夯基赋能。
演说是成功者的钢刀，是失败者的噩梦。你是要背上钢刀去战斗，还是要一辈子做噩梦？一言之辩，重于九鼎之宝；三寸之舌，强于百万之师。在鱼城这片思辨的沃土上，在书院不断焕心提质、深化内涵的圈层中，愿更多的同学可以找到携手碰撞思维的朋辈，不断打破思维天花板，互相成就，凭借演讲的星星之火，点亮自信的人生舞台。
